Email
Your email address on HMC is username@hmcltd.net (or username@ezworks.net, username@onebellevue.com, or username@winesburg.com depending upon your email address.) You can use any email program you choose to send and receive email as long as it supports the POP3 standard. Both Netscape and Internet Explorer come with POP3 compliant email programs. Another popular option is Eudora Light. If using Eudora Light please be sure that you are using the most current version due to recent security upgrades.

The two key pieces of information needed to setup your account is settings for incoming and outgoing mail. Your incoming mail server should be set to "mail.hmcltd.net/mail.winesburg.com/ mail.ezworks.net or mail.onebellevue.com". Your outgoing mail server should be set to "smtp.hmcltd.net" or "smtp.hmcltd.net" or "smtp.ezworks.net". Please note, to cut down on the threat of spam mail, HMC does not allow users from outside the HMC network to send mail through our servers. This means that you cannot send mail through mail.hmcltd.net unless you are dialed into an HMC number, connected to HMC through DSL or usuing SMPT Authentication. Due to recent restrictions by SBC if you are using SBC/HMC DSL you should set your outgoing mail server to smtp.sbcglobal.net".

Newsgroups
The HMC newsgroup server is news.hmcltd.net. Using any standard newsgroup client program, you'll have access to over 30,000 discussion groups.

Web Page
As an HMC customer, you are entitled to 5mb of space for your web page. For setup instructions, please email webmaster@hmcltd.net.

DNS
Domain Name Service, commonly referred to as DNS, is a vital part of your Internet experience. Most people refer to web pages by their domain names (www.hmcltd.net, www.cnn.com, etc.). However, the computers themselves are differentiated by numbers, known as an IP address. When you type in a domain name, your computer asks the DNS server what the corresponding computer's IP address is. That way it can know which computer to go to.

The short of it is, without proper DNS settings, your Internet connection will be rather unproductive. Settings were correctly set when your connection with HMC was initially configured. For reference purposes, these numbers are:

Primary DNS: 216.207.226.3
Secondary DNS: 216.206.38.5
